BoxyCharm Unboxing

We live in a subscription-esque world. Anything you could possibly want or need is available via sub box; from food to makeup to razors – it’s all available with a simple subscribe button and credit card number. I’m no stranger to this world. I’ve had several different subscriptions in the past but the only one that I seem to have held onto is BoxyCharm.

What is BoxyCharm?

BoxyCharm is a monthly makeup subscription box that currently offers a base box, a premium box, and a luxe box. The base box offers 5 full size products ranging from skin care to make up to tools. Premium offers 6-7 and Luxe can have anywhere from 8-10 luxury products.

Also, each month has a different variation. I can only speak on the variations I receive.

How much are we talking?

The base box monthly is going to run you $25. Premium is $35 and then Luxe is $49.99 [but it’s only available every 3 months and replaces your base box – so you’re only adding $24.99 to your bill that month]

The BoxyCharm Value

But the question on everyone’s mind is, “Is it worth it?” If you are a makeup enthusiast, like myself, I fully believe that it is worth it. It forces you out of your comfort zone and you get to try new products and brands that you may have never heard of, or didn’t want to fork over the dough for.

The claim on their site is that base boxes have a minimum of $125 value in products. The minimum value on premium is $250 and $275 for Luxe.

There has yet to be a box that I have received and absolutely hated everything in it. Of course, every once and a while there is a dud product but the others usually make up for what that one lacks.

The Unboxing

Every month has a theme. This month is Breaking the Ice. I received variation 2.

Final Thoughts

The total value of my January BoxyCharm base box was $153.99! Keep in mind, I only paid $25! To rate this box, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. I was really excited to receive the Diamond Highlighter and Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask! I have a few eyeshadow palettes that are comparable to the Ace Beauté one, but it is still a beautiful palette and they do have a lovely formula. The Wander Beauty duo is nice but it’s nothing revolutionary. The only product that fell short for me this month was the mascara. I have tried a similar mascara by Grande Cosmetics and wasn’t blown away; it’s mascara – it’s hard for me to get excited over mascara.

I would, and do, highly recommend BoxyCharm as one of the best, in my personal opinion, makeup subs out there. And believe me, I’ve tried a few.

Do any of you have BoxyCharm? Did you get the same box or a different variation? What are your thoughts? Have you tried any other subscription boxes? If so, what are they? Also, I want to make this into a monthly series. Is that something you would be interested in? Leave a comment down below!
