Final Thoughts

For an end of the year blowout, this box just didn’t fully deliver for me.  Usually, I’m super excited to try all of the products included.  This month just seems like they tried to find the most expensive items the could, and throw them in the box to wow you with the value.  Seeing how much some of these things cost, my jaw literally dropped while thinking, Who is paying these prices?  The things I’m most excited about are the eyeshadow palette, as I do not really have a blue/green  based palette in my collection and is definitely welcomed.   The smile kit was my choice product and I’m interested to see if the claims on it are true.  Also, Luxie brushes always deliver and I’m a hoarder of brushes, my husband can attest to that.

The face palette is the most disappointing in the fact that it claims to compliment all skin tones, but there is just no way.  And while looking up each individual products, this is in fact the only one offered. You would think these days, brands would have the versatility thing down by now.  At least offer a light, medium, dark range.  But no.  Just one.  Now, obviously I cannot speak for anyone with darker skin tone than myself, but after testing the product on my fair skin, I can just imagine the disappointment some of my darker babes and beaus must be feeling.  This is purely just my opinion.  Please let me know in the comments below if it does work for you.  I am curious to know.

I saw a lot of people dogging on the Rockins Cosmetics gel pens, and although I don’t think it’s a luxe product as one may think, I do think it is a great way to incorporate an indy brand and to try something new.

At the end of the day I’m not mad at it, and I’m not thrilled.  It’s just meh.  And that’s ok!  I still think BoxyCharm is the best makeup subscription box out there and cannot wait for what 2021 has to offer!

Did you receive a box this month?  Did you love it?  Hate it?  Comment down below and let’s talk makeup!
