Hello all you glam babes and beaus!  It’s time to start off the new year with a new Boxy!  Curious about what exactly BoxyCharm is?  Check out my post that explains everything.

Fresh Start

I have to admit, this box has really got me excited for the new year.  After December’s mediocre box, I was a little apprehensive on what to expect this month.  But as the box states, it’s time for a fresh start.  So shall I.  With these unboxing posts, I’m going to give a little more of my first impressions and own opinions on each individual product.  So let’s open her up and see what’s inside.

MSRP: $34.00

Violet Voss | Olive You Forever Eyeshadow Palette

This palette was designed with universally flattering olives and hues that complement one another flawlessly.  It’s packed with the most luxe formulas from creamy mattes, mesmerizing metallics, and impactful foils.  Achieve endless eyeshadow looks, from a modern soft sultry to a seductive olive smokey eye that will have them green with envy.

First Impression: The packaging of this palette is a stunning, matte olive green with gold foiling for lettering and design.  Beautiful.  My first thought was this palette was going to contain many greens of similar shades.  To my disappointment, there were no matte olive green tones…hardly any greens at all actually.  But the few that they did throw in there, are seemingly stunning!  Most importantly, I was immediately inspired.  I cannot wait dip my brushes into this palette.

Farmacy | Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner

An alcohol-free 2% BHA toner that gently exfoliates, deep cleans pores, and controls oil without over-stripping skin.  Ideal for combination, oily, or acne-prone skin.

First Impressions: Again, this product is dressed to impressed.  A beautiful green tone [no pun intended] cleanser in a heavy glass container.  I was honestly surprised to see this was only $28.  If it works as well as it looks, I am fully sold.

Farmacy Deep Sweep toner
pür 4-in-1 tinted moisturizer
MSRP: $35.00

Pür | 4-in-1 Tinted Moisturizer

A multipurpose, all-in-one broad-spectrum sunscreen, moisturizer, primer, and foundation with SPF 20 that’s part of an effortless beauty routine for an ultra natural-looking complexion.

First Impressions: This was my choice item.  I was so stinkin’ excited to see this offered in the box!  The Pür 4-in-1 Love Your Selfie foundation is one of my absolute favorites!  It is extremely full coverage so I’m intrigued to see what this tinted moisturizer has to offer.   Can it withstand my oils like it’s sister product?  Keep an eye out for a review.

Seraphine Botanicals | Apple + Baume Glow Lip Mask

Boost hydration and glow with this protective lip mask formulated with shea butter, apricot, plus jojoba and rosehip oils that work synergistically to keep lips chap-free, soothed, and plumped all at once.  It’s made with green apple and pineapple extracts to help rid lips of unsightly dead skin cells and fine lines.

First Impressions: I have never heard of this brand.  But as someone who suffers from chapped lips, especially this time of year, I am always welcoming any new product that claims to rid of my chapped lips.  Also, it smells delightful.  Always a plus.

Seraphine Botanicals Apple Baume
MSRP: $25.00
Qveen Dragon Duo Eyeliner
MSRP: $28.00

Qveen Studio | Dragon Duo

Modern day boss babe approved.  With an inky black pigmentation and a semi-waterproof formula, choose your look using the Dragon Duo.  Use Dragonliner Liquid for smudge-proof, symmetrical wings, or Dragonliner Pencil for a softer look, or a smokey eye.  Created for beginners, loved by pros.

First Impressions: Another new brand name to me.  One of the many reasons I’ve mentioned before as to why I love BoxyCharm.  It brings indy brands to the light.  I was actually thrilled to get eyeliner in the box.  It’s been a long time since the last time I had received any.  As a matter of fact, I was about to buy new liner at the store just a few days ago but decided against it.  Glad I saved my money!  The only negative I could potentially see is it only being semi-waterproof; I just hope my oils don’t smear it.

Overall Value

This box’s retail value is $150! That’s $125 in savings.  That’s incredible!  Why on Earth wouldn’t you be rushing over to BoxyCharm right now to subscribe?

This is exactly what I needed from BoxyCharm to bring in the new year!  And to keep me on the hook!  I will absolutely use every product that I received in this box.  I only took off some points because the palette didn’t exactly deliver the colors I was expecting, but I know and love Violet Voss eyeshadows!

What did you receive in your box this month?  Are you happy with it?  Not so much?  Leave a comment down below and let’s talk makeup!

Until next time!
